We provide expert guidance on all aspects of the CDM project cycle as well as across the carbon market. Activity 1
Distribution of CFLs (Mexico)
Distribution of CFLs to low income households in Mexico using a Programme of Activities certified to CDM Gold Standard. AS-AP provided high value advice to the project developer (Cool nrg) prior to submission of the project documents to the DOE for validation. AS-AP reviewed draft project documents, identified gaps, outlined possible improvements, and used structured discussions with staff of the project developer to enhance their understanding of how they could improve their project, reduce risk, and attract appropriate carbon finance.
Activity 2
Energy efficiency improvements at various coal fired power stations (China)
AS-AP assisted the project developer (a major Chinese power company) with structuring of the projects to best reflect the emissions reductions coming from the project activities, including identification of new and approved methodologies for potential use by the project developer. A revision to an approved methodology was requested and subsequently approved by the Meth Panel.
Activity 3
Meth expert services for the UNFCCC
AS-AP's staff are active members of the UNFCCC roster of methodology experts (providing these services in their personal capacity). They have been involved in the review of a wide variety of new methodologies (fuel switch, aluminium smelting, industrial EE, magnesium alloy cover gas, flue gas recovery, enteric fermentation in dairy cattle), review of numerous projects for registration and issuance (including the first registered A/R project and the first registered JI project), and assessment of DOEs for accreditation.
