Formac Electronics was established in 1981 and is focused on providing dynamic and innovative solutions for the needs of industry. From the early days, Formac concentrated on delivering high technology solutions for coal mining and gas monitoring sectors.
Since 1998 Formac has specialised in two key areas:
1- Control systems which handle the extraction and utilisation of methane gas from abandoned and working mines.
2- Design and supply of the TelGas IT system, www.telgas.net, delivering engineering and management information for CDM, coal mine methane, energy and environmental projects.
Formac has established a wholly owned subsidiary in China with the aim of serving the thriving local market. Formac China continues to participate with international partners on CDM projects while developing opportunities with local clients in CDM, energy and environmental monitoring.
Continued development of the TelGas system by Formac Electronics in the UK is central to our strategic plans. Our TelGas technology gives us the opportunity to offer highly effective management information solutions across a wide range of applications and industries.

Activity 1
Worldwide CDM Monitoring Network
Formac’s TelGas technology has been chosen by a global sustainable resources company for its worldwide operations which cover China, USA, India, Thailand and Indonesia. TelGas has given the client a significant commercial advantage by providing live visibility of their sites’ performance and efficiency. In addition, the TelGas server produces accurate and reliable emission reduction calculations and reports in a form which is preferred by the UNFCCC.
Activity 2
Monitoring Network for CMM Extraction Plants
A UK client relies on the TelGas network to remotely monitor their unmanned coal mine methane sites. In addition to live site monitoring, the client benefits from KPI reports and analysis tools to enable them to efficiently manage their sites. Their engineers use the remote control features of TelGas for supervisory control of the on-site generators.
Activity 3
Environmental Monitoring in China
Monitoring atmospheric ambient gases and airborne particles throughout the region
