AMS III.R – Methane recovery in agricultural activities at household/small farm level, version 01
by leveraging biogas to serve for thermal needs for rural india cooking and other needs. Replaces non-renewable biomass while creating sustainable employment and economic activitity for the rural households.
Secondary benefit of improving health and hygiene as well as quality of life for women and children in rural India.
Current plan of 100,000 biogas plant installations in a phased manner across rural India.

Activity 1
Green Basti Biogas Adoption (GBBA) Program
Green Basti Ecosystems (GBE) will coordinate the Small-Scale Programme of Activities (SSC-PoA) and will support the project implementer(s) in implementing the CDM Programme Activities (CPAs) in India through collaboration with biogas technology providers, biogas plant component suppliers, NGOs, MFIs, Banks and other financial institutions as needed . On implementation, this will lead to greenhouse gas emission (GHG) reduction by replacing non-renewable biomass and other fossil fuel usage at the household level.
Under the GBBA program, SSC-CPA-implementer(s) will install a family size (2-3 m3) biogas plant to households for their cooking fuel, heating and electricity needs. The SSC-CPA-implementer(s) will also provide the infrastructure to maintain and/or repair the biogas plants. CPA implementer(s) will also train the households in biogas plant usage.
